Michael Joseph Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in the town of Gary, Indiana. He was the seventh of nine children. At the age of five, Jackson started performing professionally with four of his brothers, Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito, put together by his father Joseph. They were first called the Jackson Brothers but was then changed to The Jackson 5. When Michael was six, he was already getting noticed not for only his singing but his dancing and performing too. They started out just doing talent shows and then ended up on a famous stage of Apollo Theater in New York's Harlem neighborhood. In 1967, they won an amateur-night competition. Michael became very interested in the dance moves and musical styles from James Brown Jackie Wilson and Sam and Dave, who inspired him to work on his own talents. (Biography on Michael Jackson)

In 1968, Jackson 5 was discovered by Barry Gordy and got a recording contract with his Motown staff. They then moved to California where their first four singles were recorded, "I Want You Back", "ABC", "The Love You Save", and "I'll Be There" which all made US No1 Hits. After that the Jackson 5 recorded fourteen more albums and Michael recorded four solo albums all with Motown. Because Motown owned the Jackson 5, their name had to change. They were now called The Jacksons. But The Jacksons wanted more control over their recordings which led to most of the Jacksons leaving Motown in 1975. They then signed a new recording deal with Epic Records. Between 1976 and 1984, The Jacksons made a number of new hit records and made six albums.(Michael Jackson Biography)

Micheal Jackson wasn't known as the King of Pop that is known today. Still, Jackson had a better shot than many. In 1978, he starred as the Scarecrow in "The Wiz," The film didn't go as well as what it was expected, but his acting was amazing good. Legendary Producer Quincy Jones served as the musical supervisor on "The Wiz," was surprised by Jackson's role, Quincy Jones later say that his acting reminded him of a young Sammy Davis Jr. (Kaufman)

After the release of "The Wiz," Jones and Jackson begin to work together on the album. Over seven months recording, working with some of the best songwriters, that made everyone in the world recognize Micheal Jackson. The album sold more than 20 million copies worldwide, place four singles into the Billboard Top 10 and showcased Jackson's every talents. (Kaufman)

Over the course of ten tracks. His songs wasn't just smooth and lover-man tunes, but a mixture of melody, (disco, R&B/ hip pop music) that made Micheal Jackson known as the king of pop today.(Kaufman)

Michael's album Triumph help send his solo career in the right direction, it sold more then one million copies. Jackson continued to branch out on his own, teaming up with the famous Paul McCartney, they sang the duet "The Girl is Mine", which nearly topped the pop charts.(Kaufman)

In 1982 Michael Jackson released the world's largest selling album of all time it was called "Thriller". It produced seven hit singles and sold over 50 million copies world wide. He worked with some of the best directors to help make his music videos and the latest technology was involved. In 1983 Michael performed the legendary "Moonwalk" for the first time at Motown 25 years' anniversary show. That was the night when he first entered the realm of "Super Star". In 1984 he received the Grammy award for best rhythm and Blues Song for "Billie Jean", Micheal also won Best Pop Vocal Performance, for "Thriller". Best Rock Vocal Performance, for "Beat It." With co-producer Quincy Jones, he shared the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.(Biography on Michael Jackson)

In 1986 Micheal Jackson was so called the biggest celebrity on earth. Released in 1987 "Bad" had hit it big by being number one on the Billboard album charts. Not only was it number one but it stayed there for six weeks, and sold over 30 million copies world wide. Things were looking pretty good for Michael.(Kaufman)

In the early ninetys things were still looking up for Micheal. He renewed his contract with Sony for 55 million, and finished up "Dangerous". Another number one on the charts, selling 32 million world wide. In 1993 Micheal Jackson had been accused of child abuse of 13 year old Jacob Chandler. Police investigated the case but it was dropped due to lack of evidence

1994 Michael Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley they paid a small fee for a church service and the service only lasted fifteen minutes. Some had thought that he only married her to try to get away from the media always talking about the child abuse case, Micheal denied it. The marriage only lasted one and a half years.(Kaufman)

Michael Jackson was attempting to make a comeback after all of his problems in the 90's. He came out with an album called "Invincible". The album did not compare to his previous albums. His financial and media problems contributed to his disappointing comeback. The scandals with the media followed long into his career.(Kaufman)

In December Ian Halperin told Michael Jackson he had six months to live. Six months later on June 25th, Michael Jackson was being rushed to a nearby hospital and was stated dead. Michael was to sing in London in 2009 but could not because of his frail old body and his illness. Six months later Ian Halperin relieved the story behind Michael Jackson's death. It is said that Michael Jackson was scheduled 50 concerts in London instead of just 10. Michael got very skinny and knew he was dying. starting from the Jackson 5 to until his death, MJ sold more than 750 million records world wide, with eight platinum albums, thirteen number one singles and thirteen Grammy awards. His big hit Thriller is the biggest selling non compilation album of all time.(Kaufman)

Nice first attempt at a group web page. The main weakness is a lack of sources of information. Each member should have contributed at least one source. The Works Cited is fairly well formatted, but many paragraphs lack in-text citations. (Titles of articles should be in quotation marks.) Your page would also benefit from more careful proofreading of mechanics.
